Overview The Procurement / Capacity / Supply Planner is responsible for managing procurement activities, vendor relationships, inventory control, and supply planning to ensure timely delivery of products and services. This role works closely with suppliers, operations, logistics, and internal stakeholders to optimize inventory levels, negotiate favorable pricing and lead-times, and support overall supply chain efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Supply Planning
Manage procurement activities including sourcing, purchasing, and order management for materials, equipment, and services.
Develop and maintain supply and capacity plans to support operational and customer demand requirements.
Coordinate purchase orders and monitor supplier performance to ensure on-time delivery and product availability.
Analyze demand forecasts and inventory requirements to align procurement strategies with business needs.
Vendor Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, pricing, delivery, and responsiveness.
Resolve supplier-related issues and escalate concerns when necessary to maintain continuity of supply.
Conduct regular vendor reviews and support supplier improvement initiatives.
Pricing & Lead-Time Negotiation
Negotiate pricing, lead-times, terms, and service agreements with suppliers to achieve cost savings and operational efficiency.
Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements within the supply chain.
Monitor market trends and supplier capabilities to support strategic sourcing decisions.
Delivery Planning & Coordination
Plan and coordinate delivery schedules to meet operational timelines and customer expectations.
Track shipments and proactively address delays or supply chain disruptions.
Collaborate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure accurate and timely receipt of goods.
Asset & Inventory Management
Maintain accurate inventory and asset records within company systems.
Monitor inventory levels to minimize shortages, excess inventory, and obsolescence.
Perform inventory analysis and support cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation activities.
Ensure proper tracking and management of company assets throughout their lifecycle.
RMA & Credit Oversight
Oversee Return Material Authorization (RMA) processes and ensure timely resolution of returns and credits.
Coordinate with vendors to process warranty claims, defective returns, and credit reconciliations.
Maintain accurate documentation related to RMA activities and vendor credits.
Experience & Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, or related field preferred.
3+ years of experience in procurement, supply planning, inventory management, or related supply chain functions.
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
Experience with ERP/MRP systems and inventory management tools.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and supply chain reporting tools.
Preferred
Knowledge of supply chain planning methodologies and procurement best practices.
Experience managing vendor relationships and logistics coordination.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Compensation
Full-Time, Exempt
$90,000-$120,000/year, DOE
