Overview The Fixed Asset Accountant maintains STN's fixed asset subledger, ensures proper capitalization and depreciation treatment, and partners with project and procurement teams to track capital projects from initiation through completion.
Key Responsibilities
Fixed Asset Accounting & Reconciliation
Maintain the fixed asset subledger/register, ensuring all asset additions, transfers, and disposals are accurately recorded
Assign proper asset classifications, useful lives, and depreciation methods in accordance with company policy and GAAP
Reconcile the fixed asset subledger to the general ledger on a monthly basis
Capital Expenditures & CIP Tracking
Review capital expenditure requests and invoices to determine proper capitalization vs. expensing
Work with project managers, procurement, and leadership teams to track Construction in Progress (CIP) and capitalize projects upon completion
Attention to Detail: Ensures assets are classified, capitalized, and depreciated correctly
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partners with project managers and procurement on CIP tracking
Analytical Skills: Evaluates capitalization vs. expensing judgment calls
Reliability: Delivers accurate monthly depreciation and reconciliations on a consistent schedule

$75,000-$95,000/year, DOE
